I went on a study abroad trip to Florence, Italy in the Spring of 2017. While there, I researched the work of Renaissance artist, Filippo Brunelleschi. I sketched, gathered research and photographs during my time there.
The goal of this project was to assemble content into a coffee table book. I wanted it serve as a travel book appealing to art history lovers with an eye for design.
I also created a novelty box for book storage. In the event the book were to be published, the box would come with the purchase of a book. The box features words, illustration, and pattern inspired by the book itself.
To make the box, I designed a custom template to meet the book specs.
Handley Elementary is a school in Saginaw, MI. Their program caters to academically gifted students in grades K-5. Handley is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World school. IB schools are committed to creating an academically challenging environment with high quality international education.
The goal of this project was to update their current logo, taking into consideration their IB status and current color standards. Additionally, the client requested a number of different symbols to be included: a globe, blue ribbon, and a crest. Along with the logo redesign, the client was supplied with logo application samples.

The SVSU Health Brochures are a set of trifolds, meant to be cohesive, well-organized, and eye catching.
The purpose of this assignment was to emulate the style of a distinguished graphic designer, while handling multiple levels of information. The designer I chose was Saul Bass. The themes I wanted to capitalize on were his use of striking colors and cut-out shapes.
The Community Resolution Center is a non-profit organization that provides mediation services for those who prefer to settle legal disputes outside the court room setting.
I worked with the client, together with several students from other disciplines through Cardinal Solutions. We operated as a small marketing firm, advising the client on marketing strategy and branding.
The client requested a set of trifolds. The documents are tailored to each of sectors the CRC targets: legal, education, and general public. The CRC has specific information it provides to each of these markets.
I created a font and applied it to a series of web banners. The banners serve to set the tone of the font and to give the user inspiration and ideas on how it could be applied to potential projects.
About the Font:
Cococut is a bold, cutout style font. It’s very versatile. The font is highly stylized, making it difficult to read as small body copy, but works nicely as a headline font.
These are a few examples of icons I’ve created to use for logo design, character concepts, and embellishment.
Rum Doodle Racing is a business that helps athletes from beginner to elite, train for triatholons. They offer a personalized program to fit each individual’s needs.
The client requested a rebrand that included logo, updated color palette, and letterhead system. I chose a modern, sporty color scheme, pair with a san serif font. For the logo I designed a glyph using “RD”.
Pit & Balcony is a community theater based in Saginaw, MI. They are non-profit organization and contribute greatly towards the enrichment of arts and culture in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
My goal in this re-brand was to communicate quality and professionalism of Pit & Balcony as a community theater. I also sought to appeal to a younger audience with a fresh, modern design and color palette.
This manual includes everything one would need to know about the new branding standards of Pit & Balcony, including font/color guides, stationery specs, application suggestions, etc.
